Fishtrap has been very, very good to us this year.
We slipped Liki Tiki into the still waters of
Fishtrap around 6:00 am; you could look-up the
definition of "quiet" in the dictionary and it
would have a picture of Fishtrap Lake. As we
electri-trolled southwards from the launching
point, we saw a couple of Great Blue Herons(!!)
Usually they are solitary fishers...
Anyway, we noticed the lake is in the throes of
eutrophication; that is to say, the lake is almost
pea-soup green from all the algae growth. Since
I WON a trio of Uncle Wes' fishing lures, and know
they have large spinner blades, I used one of them
to attract fish despite the nearly-opaque water.
The lure worked fine: Both of the FF of FL limited-out.
Think: The fish gotta SEE something as well as
smell it... Our job: Make 'em VOLUNTEER for the
pan...
