5/15/2010 6:35:00 AMLittle Trib .. Exactly! ..... I've seen them before, yet not in the middle of the day. "Skippers" across the top of the water, and fairly large ball of bait ... 15-20' in circumfrence I would guess. Skittish tho .. couldn't get too close, so I just long lined it ( 50-60' ) behind the boat, and circled them from a distance.
PS... Took a client out Friday morning and did pretty well again mid-morning. ... This weather may change things up ... For the better and the worse. Surface temp was up to 62 degrees on Friday.
Saturday, as I type this, there is a Bass tournament going on.... So lot's of guys on the lake, plus LOTS of weekend warriors with the family and pleasure craft .... The boat ramps are going to be a mess!!
I saw a really weird boat from New Zealand ... It had two wheels in the Stearn, one one the Bow with articulated hydrolic arms with "all terrain fatty wheels" that lowered down which would lift it up off the ground and "drive" like a car down the ramp, into the water, then the wheels would lift back up and tuck into a wheel well of sorts. The guy was showing it off, on the Mercer Isaland Ramp. Going in and out of the water with no trailer.... $90K for the Boat and power assisted wheels with some kind of drive train ... about 18' in length ... Looked like a weird Boston Whaler of sorts.
For 90K, I would get a better/bigger boat and just wait for the tide to come in or find a decent ramp !! LOL :-)
