Went out to Wards lake today around 7p.m. Needless to say it was nonstop fishing for the sunfish, was kind of hoping for a bass with no luck. All in all it was a good evening, I'd say anywhere from 20+ fish were caught. Will be going there again.

If you are going saturday ill see you there probably. Im going saturday. How deep did you put your bait? I have my slip bobber set up at a depth of about three and a half feet to four feet. Do you think that will work?

I might go Saturday morning. I put my bait about 2 feet deep & I fished near the lily pads from shore. I didn't really cast that far, The biggest one caught was actually caught nearest to me, AS for having it three feet deep I'm not sure as I haven't tried. Give it a shot & if it doesn't work then just lower it. Goodluck

Just one more question, where on the lake do you think is a good spot for catching fish? Where did you go? Thanks for your help, i have been skunked so many times in a row, im really looking forward to start catching some more fish, even if they are little sunfish.

Any idea if they are little pumpkinseed sunfish (kind of like mini bluegills) or bluegill or crappie?
Sounds like a fun little lake warming up a bit ahead of the bigger waters. Thanx for the report and good luck.

They look like pumpkin seed to me, From the shore I fished the left side & right side near the lily's with good results. I have noticed though if i Just throw it they don't really bite. I twitched my bobber every 5 seconds or so, either that or cast & reel in really slow. Also just use a tiny piece of worm, even a maggot on a small sized hook

Oh & I forgot to add, If I were to go again today or any other day I would probably just use a barbless hook because I had trouble taking a few hooks out due to it swallowing
