Went to Swofford pond from about 10am to 4pm. I intended to go after some bass. Had a new lure that I got with my WALakes.com gift package and tried that. Tried fishing shallow areas on the far bank with no success, and TONS of snags.
After giving up on that, I attempted to troll. Immediately got a hit from a small rainbow trout, and my line got all fouled up (fish hit the lure while I was deploying) Got him to the boat and let him go.
Fishing with two lines from a kayak isn't too hard, but that has to be the most snaggy lake I've ever been in. The lake never gets much deeper than 15 feet, and there is stuff growing everywhere. I spent 90% of my time removing algae and weeds from my hardware.
Girlfriend caught what she described as a "black sunfish" about 8" long.
