I had to work this afternoon so when Joey called and said "I wanna go fishing" I knew it was gonna have to be a quick trip to a lake close by so we ended up at Silver Lake in south Everett. There was some kind of boat regatta thing going on at the park so we headed over to the east side of the lake and fished the dock just north of the old restaurant. Having learned my lesson from our Swofford Pond trip last month, and previous trips to other lakes, I had my 10 bucks out ready to fork it over to her. There were a few other people fishing there but they were nice enough to let us squeeze in and they all had fish that they were taking home so it looked to be a promising trip, even if it was gonna be a short one. Well my bait had barely hit bottom when I hear . . . "fish on!" and I realize that it's me saying that. Woo hoo! Even though it was just a planter it won me 5 bucks and I was a happy fisher. My next fish was a decent 12 incher which ended up being the biggest fish of the day so I was able to win back half of the 20 bucks I lost to her at Swofford Pond. We only caught 3 fish this trip, the third being hers, and it was a long, skinny one about 10 inches. Though the bite was slow, everyone on the dock was catching fish which is pretty good for this lake. Well, work was calling to me and Bingo was calling to her so we called it a morning at 12:30ish but decided after we both were done with what we had to do we might try Cottage Lake in Woodinville. Will post that report next.
