Fished for a short while 1900-1945 before it started to rain and wind picked up. Lots of rises in the middle of the lake - was told there's a trench running the length of the middle of the lake and some in the lily pads (although they might have been sunfish in the pads). Saw a few boats trolling, seemingly without luck. Tried the eastern shore with an olive colored reverse hackle Ishigaki kebari - no go. Guess they like brown better.

Is the #6 wooly bugger for targeting trout? Not too big?

I've used the #6 sized flies mostly and they do well.

And the middle lake isnt a trench, quite the opposite, its a risen area no deeper than 15 feet., check the lake info page, the topo map is at the bottom

ruthven78- Interesting, hadn't even thought to check the topo map; You're quite right - it IS a rise. Maybe I'll need to get my kayak out and troll the lake a little bit, would probably prove more effective.
