Actually shouldn't rate the fishing so poor since I only fished from 1930-2010, but was excited to try fishing flies that I'd tied for the first time. Caught a small brook trout on a brown reverse hackle dry fly fishing from the eastern shore although not from an ideal location. Had wanted to fish in a spot already occupied by a family chunking bait. As I was leaving saw a lot of rises for the evening feed, albeit all located in the middle of the lake in a straight line - good for that one guy in a canoe. Still very happy to know the fly I tied will entice fish. Can't wait to try again, but gotta work on my casting - also new to fly fishing (first time out fly fishing too). Didn't want to grip the fish, so he slipped out of my palm prior to photographing; That's OK, I'll be back for more.
