After reading the WDFW triploid plant reports for the Western Washington lakes, my Dad and I decided to try Erie Lake for the opener. Erie Lake received over 2,000 triploids before the opener. We fished the lake for 1 1/2 hours and had our limits. We caught 5 triploids and all our fish ranged between 11 and 17 inches in size. We lucked out compared to my friend fishing Clear Lake (Pierce County) as he got soaked and we hardly had any drops of rain. We did have to deal with a fairly strong wind, but with our custom made Jameson Lk anchor, we didn't move a bit.
