Finally got to launch about 0930 after spending some time fixing a leaky tire on the trailer. Weather was great but fishing was slow. We tested a recommendation I read about which side of a lake to fish depending on which way the wind is blowing. Two weeks ago the wind was blowing out of the NE and we were finding and catching along the east side. Yesterday the wind was blowing out of the SW so we took a right turn out of the launch and followed the shore around and found a good concentration along the shore in 8' of water in the second bay from the launch just past the rock point...but they were not biting much. My 5 year old grandson caught the first one with a Muddler tipped with a small purple trout worm. My son-in-law landed the next two with wedding ring type lures I made tipped with the purple plastic worms and lost another one at the boat. I had several strikes and that was it.
Further testing of the wind theory...followed the shore around to the east side where we did so well two weeks ago and only a few isolated fish showing on the finder.
