On a sunny June after noon I decided to try finding the fishermans trail to Lichtenwasser lake using the directions off this web site. Well ....... lets just say I had a little difficulty. At first I couldn't find it. It is about 2 miles at the sharp bend in the road but you can no longer look up the road and see the cars parked at the trail head to Valhalla. That trail head has been moved. It is now at about 3.1 miles. So I started up the trail. I figure (from the top map) its about A mile and a half to the lake. IT IS DANGEROUS AND CONFUSING. I lost the trail three times and had to back track. and the last part of the trail STAY LEFT) isn't a trail muddy mountain climb). Then you follow orange tags about 100 yards) hanging in the trees till you arrive at this BEAUTIFUL ALPINE lake. The trail is a little slice of HELL .Bring your sense of direction and DON'T let go. As for the fishing it was great. I kept 2. 11 and twelve inch CUTTS the rest I caught and released(7 total). I WILL BE BACK!!! so here is the info and thanx for yours. KEEP IT CLEAN . Cracker Jack
