Got to the lake at about 11:30 a.m. Water temp at the public launch 61 degrees. Water clarity for this lake is always the same every visit i have made which is not a whole bunch in the last ten years (2) but the water condition as always kind of a tanic leaf brown color not so much you can't see a few feet down.. Lilly pads are on top and still growing. Lots of carp in the shallows.Did Fish and Wildlife plant grass carp here? Caught fish by finding open spots along the edge of shoreline with some type of wood structure ( limbs, tree overhang with dead limbs in water, Logs) . Caught most Bass on 7 inch sinko type plastics. Did not matter what color used fish hit on multiple color variations from dark to light hues. Had to skip sinko under some over hangs but soon as it hit bottom (less than 1 foot) got to see a wake from bass charging plastic and then taking off. Caught 2 of the larger fish today on a black home made (Boogie Bait) type lure. 1 fish caught side arm casting level wind into the brush overhang with 17 pound line and the second one which was the big un of the day (4lbs.) along side a dock. The remainder of the fish caught was with an open face spinning reel spooled with 12 pound line . Fish caught today 8 Missed 5 launch temp 7:30 p.m. 61 degrees high water temp 65 degrees. slight breeze on the water but not steady.
