It was a beautiful day. We got there at 12:30 and fished till 4:20. No clouds, little wind at the beginning and the fish were biting. Well at least for my dad and I. We were getting hits all day long on a rainbow trout epoxy minnow. What was even a little funny was that some fish were getting airborne, going after some midges or some kind of bugs hatching. We were the only ones fishing deep with minnow patterns while everyone else was fishing Chironomids. My dad was the first to get a fish on. He fought it for about 5 minutes then I netted a big and fat 20" rainbow. The weird thing about this fish was that it had claw marks on its back from an eagle or other bird. Anyways, this fish was fighting good, even jumped clear out of the water a few times. We got hits the rest of the time going around the lake, and then I finally hooked up with a frisky 14" rainbow that was in perfect condition. I trolled around a little longer then headed in. The only other fish that were caught was an 18-20" rainbow. All in all, it was a great day to be in the water fishing.
