Wow, it's been an insanely busy past month for me as I have turned my firearms inventory in my shop over twice in the last 5 weeks, so this chance to get out and fish was welcome. I took an elderly friend of mine out and we hit the water at a little before 9am, fired up the electronics and found the Crappie within 10 minutes. We were slaying them on my personal favorite: Don's Dandy Crappie Jigs, maybe a little biased since they are my own product and today the firecracker red was hot! We kept nothing but 10" and well one that was 11" and threw back more than we kept. By noon the bite was off and we went in search of some perch to fill the cooler with and had a good time with them as well. Water temp did not get above 50.3 degrees we had a fair amount of wind which gave my Minkota a real workout but we managed to keep the nose to the wind and the lines verticle. Saw one boat bassing, not sure how they did, but I graffed a good many hawgs just sitting on the bottom, I don't think they are in the shallows just yet at least on this lake, one week of good weather should do it. Just finished a fine dinner after a beautiful day fishing. Klahowya!

Nice fish, I went up there a week and a half ago the day after the storm and it was windy as heck, only got 1 9" perch over by where I saw you anchored up at 2 months ago when I saw you on the lake. Might try it this weekend up there again since it's going to be warm for a few days, maybe it'll get them to bite better.

Yes! Warmer weather sure would be nice. The Perch are just about all spawned out, few were still milking and most were pretty soft and wasted from the spawn, they will soon spread back out and it will be hunt and peck for em again. The weather should help the Crappie and put them into pre-spawn mode so if you can find a group stay on em, best around 10am for them. If I finish my HunDo's I might head out Sunday am. Klahowya!
