Well, now that Steelheading is done for the year I can get my alternative to Chelan includes fishing on Omak. Remember, until May 31st it is catch and release with single barbless hooks. The Lahontan Cutthroat average 17 to 21 inches. The state record fish came out of Omak and was 18.04 pounds. We of course were oblivious and had to find some single barbless stuff to fish. Apex's did the trick. Silver was best, but green and fire orange got bit to. We fished about 3 hours and got 13 to the boat. By far, the southern end was best. Kadin Stennes (5) of Pateros got his first ever Lahontan preserved for posterity.

That is a pretty fish!! Got to open the picture full screen. The picture quality is crisp with detail. That kid has some stories to tell tomorrow at school.

That is one pretty fish. And your weather looked great to boot. Not that nasty rain and wind like here on the west side. Cant wait for vacation to head that way.

Where are the boat launches for this lake? And do you need Downriggers?
