Ask and ye shall recieve...after landing my first smallies last week on Goodwin, I was really hoping the largies weren't far behind, and I only had to wait one week!! Launched about 8am this morning, wind out of the north east about 5-10mph and it was overcast skies. Headed north from the launch pitching a root beer colored jig with a Zoom Super Chunk Jr. trailer on 20lb florocarbon. Only took about 15 minutes and I was into bass #1 a 3.5lber in about 8-9' of water! 15 minutes after that, the 4.7lber grabbed it in about 6' and was off to deeper water when I set the hook, she ran all over before I lipped her. So at this point, I'm thinking "here we go", then the sun came out and started warming the water and I was REALLY thinking here we go, however, 3 hours later, I caught my third and final bass of the day, he went 2.6lbs and came on my second cast after switching to a black and blue jig. No complaints here!! Three March largies is always a good day! Bass came off of the deeper docks and seemed scattered from about 6' to 12'? Also tossed swimbaits, jerkbaits, c-rigged worms, spinnerbaits, and t-rigged worms, but couldn't convince any more to play the game... Water temp at the start of the day was 46.5* and 50.4* when I left at about 3pm.
