I was given instructions that I had 90 minutes to take our 8 year old granddaughter, McKinley to Roses to catch some fish. Not that she's bossy or anything. Had to fit it in between church, lunch and doing the weekly reports... Well we took her Mom along for photography and comic relief. With a wait to launch and a wait to retrieve we had about 55 minutes on the water. We lost 4 and put 4 in the net. we trolled flies behind wiggle fins off of 8# test mono. We hooked a couple of fish just under the surface, but this late in the afternoon, we got more bites by adding about a 5/8 of an ounce. I guess that got us down about 6 to 8 feet below the surface. We trolled from 1.7 to 2.2 mph. Most bites came on eccentric turns. To get an idea of the kind of pressure this lake receives on a busy March Sunday, 2 of the 4 fish we kept had plastic jig bodies and power bait in the guts along with indistinguishable green goo. It was nice to get such a big smile out of my little girl. Anton
