Also fished for sockeye second week in a row. Last week all 4 of us limited in about 2 hours out of steward park to south mercer iceland part of lake.

This week the fish and the water temp made it more of a chess match.
First off to the prior post, We all used this and last week manual downriggers with no problems. I think it might of been your set up.
We all used only bright chrome with reflective tape size 1 dodgers. all had 16-18 inches of leader rigged to double 3/0 red hooks about 2 inches apart. We fished this setup about 12-15 feet off downrigger ball at a constant 70-75 feet depth. The secret ingredient that a salmon guide turned me on to and it WORKS is to put white shrimp smelly jelly on hooks, leader, and dodger. (we were catching fish we others were not so it works). We were marking fish at 40 feet both weekends but those may have been other type fish as there was no bite on those levels. We also were marking fish at bottom 115 feet/
But nine times out of ten when a school came in at 65-85 the bite was on. Only difference was last weekend we marked many more fish.
The heat could not have helped either. As the last post said. there were a lot less people on the lake vs. prior week and they all read the fish reports and headed to south end of lake near mercer. But the bite was better off Mercer more near Steward park area. We caught first few right away at about 6-7 am. Then it died all over.
We had to really work for the limits till about 2-3pm.
don't know if it got any better later. All in all it was a great 2 weeks in a row. Really with they would open a week day or 2 to fish less crowded conditions. Also if not many fish caught maybe another fishing day since the heat really hurt this one.

I see the counts are still high at the locks for this late in July.
Ya never know.
See ya on the lake!
