My dad and I decided to go down to Leland Lake to try for some crappie after one of the reports from here about crappie being caught there. We started fishing at about 12:30 PM, the first 2 hours or so we tried still fishing and kicking the trolling motor once in awhile up by where the lilypads are usually in 10-15 foot of water and didn't get anything. Then we moved down to one of the spots where we usually catch perch and trout and my dad casted out a worm and bobber while I casted out a bobber and jig. I ended up catching the 3 trout in about 10 minutes that are in the picture. I caught the first in about 15 seconds of my line being in the water. Got the fish off the hook and all that and threw it back out, when I was done cleaning my hands looked up and saw my bobber down again and caught that trout, then again once I threw it out and was cleaning my hands I had the third trout on. Each coming within 10-15 seconds of my line being out in the water. Tried casting it back out to the same spot but didn't get another bite. Then after that we trolled around with jigs trying to see if we could find crappie and I ended up catching the crappie in the picture trolling around. I had 4 other bites but once I had gotten my fishing pole out the holder, the fish were gone. My dad also ended up catching a little bass about 7" long. The crappie was probably about 9 1/2"-10" with the trout being around 13-14". Nice day of fishing and saw a couple of others out fishing on the lake.
