I never believed the old saying "... too hot to fish..." until Saturday! Fishing was hot in the morning, the weather was in the afternoon. Took three trips again, like last week.

Took buddies Don (thanks for the use of the private launch), John and John's son Jason on the early trip. We had to drop Don off at 7:00, so we gave him the first two fish in the boat. Even with taking a break to drop him off, we had 8 fish in the boat by 8:30. Fished in the armada off the south tip of MI with red hooks.

Cleaned up the boat and picked up friend Ray and his wife Mila and son Matthew at about 9:00. Had 6 more in the boat at 11:15, though about half came on blue hooks this time. First big fish for Matthew and first salmon for Mila, what a thrill! They loved it.

Picked up my wife and kids for the afternoon trip, but they only lasted about 45 fishless minutes before the cries of "I want to swim" became too loud to ignore. The boats had really cleared out, so we pulled the poles and broke out the swim ladder. After dropping Mommy and Michelle at Coulon to get milk shakes, Megan, Timmy and I managed to lose two fish and get Timmy a sockeye, but then we called it a day and drank milkshakes on the way back home. It was too hot to fish, for kids at least!
