A buddy and i got on the lake about 730am and fished the two islands for about a hour. Nothing happening so we hit little american. Within the first 45 minutes i got my first smallie ever, 2lbs 12ozs. We fished in there for half the day and missed a couple other fish, still learnin. I dropped my buddy off at the launch and went back out. I hit the V A hospital shoreline and fished for about 30 min and bam, i hooked a big trout in 6 or 7 feet of water on my bass gear. 4 lbs 8 ozs. I caught both fish on a black with blue flake kreature. Had bites here and there throughout the day, not a bad day. Water temp hit 50 at the end of the day. I will be back out there tomorrow bright and early.
