Went to Eloika to see if any ice left. It looked beautiful and wished I brought my boat. Did put a line in the water with the kid but no fish. Elokia is ready for action!!

Thanks for the report! If you hadn't posted this I would've done the same thing.... ran up there without my boat to check it out and then mad that I didn't have it. Can't wait for the first bucketmouth of the year!

Yes no ice left at all. Spinnerbait where you target the bucketmouth
this early in the year. Ive never been out this early

I usually don't have much luck until the ice has been off for a couple of weeks. When I start catching fish they're usually found in the deeper water. My best spot at Eloika this early has north of Jerry's, off the big point with the willow. I'm usually straight out from that point casting towards the middle into 12 to 14 feet of water with rapala husky jerks.

i was there today so much for no ice id stayed home had id got accurate info not a ton but to much for the good fishing to start i usually give it a week or two after all the ice melts not some of it thanks a ton
