Fished RW on the 17th to the 19th .We started on the first day at the lower pens fishing black jigs near the shore no current to speak of and the bite was not what you would call great. We did get a few hits but the take was really soft and we we set the hook on fish that where long gone.We did manage two fish that were both released.Since we were going to fish two more days we hooked the boat up and headed to the upper pens to see were we wanted to fish the next day ought our limit in about one hour fish 6 to 8 lb.no doubt were we were going the next day.The next day we were more selective catching about 20 fish keeping fish in the 8 to 10 lb range. Last day same as second day It was a trip that memory's are made of.We never changed our method of fishing black jigs in cold water and what worked for us was dead slow presentation more drift fishing then reeling and the take was just so light you had to really pay attention,Saturday will be fishing Steelhead in the Okanagan River report to follow
great report ganno, I'll be there wed with 2 freinds from N.D. They want to catch walleye's. can you tell me what type and size of jigs you were using? And anybody with any succsess on the walleye's?
We were using 1/8 oz marabou jigs. There is a shelve that comes from fifty foot up to eight feet straight out from the upper pens and it is quite long easy to find you should find some walleyes on that slope. good luck.
Nice mess of fish there Ganno, thanks for the report and it's good to hear the ole black jig is puttin fish in the boat. That shelf you mentioned, It's given up some nice trout also. Glad you got the pics up, they look good. Best of luck on your future outings.
I fished RF on Saturday 2-14 for eyes, koko and rainbows , and only had one K to show for it. I fished RF last fall for eyes and had 3 real nice ones in the boat on top of the old rapids. I fished them the 14 with no success. Good luck and give us a report on how the eyes turned out!
