Interesting day, with the news of the shuttle disaster I thought about going home instead of fishing. But life goes on and if I had been one ot the astronauts I would not want the Country to morn but to celebrate their effort and move on.
I should have been at the lake by 6:00 AM, by 7:30 the morning rise had ended. The water temperature was 41 to 43 degrees, quite clear, with occasional light breezes. Overall it was a nice day. Several boats caught fish by trolling deep (5 colors of lead line, flashers or pop-gear, flies or double wammies). I caught fish (~25) by working the shore line, but most that were working the shoreline failed. The secret was to hold your mouth right (I wish fish for a couple of hours without a strike and than catch 5 fish in 6 cast - go figure).
I did see one huge perch caught at the launch (~14").
