Went looking for kokanee (and rainbow). Graphed several huge concentrations of fish in very deep water, but they wouldn't take any offerings. The fish could have been whitefish, or carp, or suspended walleye.....who knows. We didn't take time or effort to drop the camera down as it was very windy. Surface temperature was 36 degrees. Caught one beauty rainbow on a trolled husky jerk. Started fishing at 7 am and took off at 11 am, and went to Roosevelt. Didn't try for walleye....talked to a friend who tried all day Saturday for walleye without a bite. I suspect the water is too cold for any aggressive activity. Lake is entirely ice free except for the launch at the Coulee City boat basin, which should only be a few days until it's clear. Lake was pretty much full pool (didn't check the official readings however) and launching at mid-lake was no problem.
