Thought I would go out again with my friend and try some worms and just bottom fish some docks and other areas of the lake. Rarely did we see any fish on the fish finder. We didnt have any hits today either and saw even less fish. A person on the dock said he had caught one the day before. I still need any winter trout fishing tips if anyone can help.

ServeandCollect is back on the water... good to see you are getting out there. Spring is right around the corner!

Winter is tough. I primarily fly fish but the same standards are probably applicable; slow it down. Fish get lower in the water column when it's cold so low and slow is the way to go. The powerbait and marshmallow/worm combo is probably your best bet until the water temp gets up in the 50s

Thanks for the advice BT the water temp was around 46.5 so still have a few weeks maybe a month to go. To the Quad Yup I am back I have a new fishing buddy trying to teach him the basics of fishing lol so I just took him out to Ballinger. I am going to try and hit up Haller Lake maybe this weekend just to see if I can catch any bass since I am only going to be targeting the docks since there are no lillys.

Ballinger has been sloooow.. but fish have been spotted at the surface feeding a little bit lately. One of the regulars caught a nice hold over last week while snoozing in his chair - for those that fish from the dock likely know who I'm talking about. I guess the secret to catching em now is not paying any attention to the rod...
