January marks the time for the cutthroats to spawn. Apparently, most of the month the fish are not feeding nearly as much because of this and begin to conga grate around the south end of Mercer Is and the Cedar Cr area. Once February rolls in and the spawning ends, the fish will begin to feed more aggressively. There were quite a few boats out at the south end between Mercer Is to the Boeing plant however we marked more fish up around the 520 area than down south around Mercer.
