Have fished Rufus many times but this was the 1st time we have gotten into double digit weight fish. Things started slowly at the upper pens (very few fish marked) but after about an hour we moved out to the Nespelem Bar and started finding fish. The wife caught the 1st fish, just over 13 lbs. I followed with the little one (kept all fish as we were using black wooly buggers tipped with worms). About an hour later I hooked the second fat boy - 13 lbs 6 oz. We tried jigging with the root beer B-2 squid and also with the black promise keeper. No hits on either so we switched to our tried and true, black wooly buggers behind action disks off down riggers at about 10 feet. All fish were caught right along the edge of the bar in about 25 to 30 feet of water adjacent to the pens. Spent about 3 hours on the water to catch the 3 fish. I have noticed that fishing has been slower since late spring/mid summer but the fish we have been catching in our last few trips have been larger. I can live with that. All in all a very good day on the water

howdy jtwatso, Thanks for posting pics of some of RW's fatboys. The ole wooly bugger/wigglefin combo has accounted for many a fish on Rufus. It's nice to have the go-to presentation when all else fails. Take care and stay safe on the water.
