Got home from work and started the BBQ about 6:30. Tossed a floating 6" bait out as I loaded grill. Heard a splash and set the hook. I was using a 3 1/2' foot ultralight rod with 2# test. Fought for almost 20 minutes before landing a 23" SEVEN AND A HALF POUND SMALLMOUTH BASS! One of the best battles with a fish I have ever had. After weighing and measuring this fish I released it back to continue to propagate the lake. Largemouth are coming in now, 5/11/04. Good Luck.
