Just a couple of good ole boys from Minnesota floating the Scoot and reminiscing our childhood days in northern Minnesota. We done good! Called up a few walleye some real nice perch one pushing 14" and the bonus was stunning huge bluegill. My partner was doing something most unusual, he would start just off the bottom as we were either trolling or drifting for the walleye using my homemade bottom bouncers and my special secret worm harness rigging, after a couple minutes he would reel up a couple feet and engage a slow lift and drop, then after a couple more minutes he would bring it up a couple more feet and lift and drop. He was just getting slammed by the biggest bluegills I have ever seen in my life! They were even bigger than the Crappie we were catching, they looked like pihrannas by God and you could even feel their teeth. I joined him in his unusual technique and we just had a hoot catching these things. We ended up with a nice spectrum of fish in the box including a nice cat. This was a great way to end the season and we had a real nice fish fry Monday evening. Cheers to all, I now hang my rods up for the guns until the Steelhead runs.

Congradulations from one Northern Minnesota kid to another. Sounds like the old days "Up North". Never fished Scootney but now you have me interested so will give it a try next time I get over that way. How's the campground?

It really is a very nice campground, somewhat limited on space but has all the ammenities of a first class campground capable of handling the big rigs on down to tenting, nice launch, beach and swimming area, run by the Dept. of Interior...
