I had always heard the state park was a good place to catch bass, so my good friend and I drove out to try our luck. Apparently it costs 5 bucks to park at the state park, so we decided to head to Idylwood instead. Along the way we drove by Timberline Park, which neither of us had ever heard of. The park has a very small parking lot and several wide trails ideal for dog walking. At the end is a small beach with open access to the water. My friend tossed a Kastmaster and caught a small 9 inch bass which he proudly released, while I waited patiently with a bobber and worm. Eventually we gave up and drove to Idylwood, and broke out the Senkos. No fish there, but one monster bite for my friend. Overall a great day, and a happy one to spend on beautiful lake sammamish.
