Fished the lake from 9:15am to 1:00pm. First time I've fished Rattlesnake. What a great place to fish! Stunning views and hawks soaring overhead - can't ask for more. I started with a Montana nymph and used my sinking line. The hits started coming right away. Lots of taps and grabs that were non-hookups. I finally caught a small stocker and a few minutes later my rod doubled over with a solid fish. After a nice fight brought to the boat a 16"+ rainbow. Admired him for a moment, thought about the grill, then released him. Just didn't seem right to kill this fish. The day continued with more taps and short hits. I switched a few lures, settling on a red/silver streamer that brought a real feisty 12" bow to the boat. My hookup ratio was terrible but it was still a great day on the water!
