Fished from 3:00 to 6:00 on an overcast day and the bite was pretty good I like to troll along the shore and just outside the weeds. Also like to cast just outside the weedbed on the east side of the lake. I was mainly catching little large & small mouth bass until I nailed this monster just as I was starting to troll in it bit hard right after the cast it nailed my black and white Rapala good fight. It was 20 inches with some girth, had to be at least 5 lbs.

I did release it but to be honest I wouldn't mind if a few of these bass in this lake would be kept. They eat up all the trout and sunfish and all you have left are horrible eating fish. If I liked the taste of largemouth trust me I woud of kept it. Lake Joy has no shortage of big bass.

It sounds you visit the lake quite a lot. It would be good if a lot of the bass were kept and removed from this little lake. As a seasonal resident with a cabin on the lake, I only remember it has been years since I last caught a trout in the lake. As i remember, it was a native cutt throat at 19", only to be released to be caught again later to no luck.
