This is a nice lake as far as scenery but, the fishing is pretty tough. It’s good for Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, and trout but, if you’re targeting Bass good luck. The lake is super shallow and full of overgrown weeds, not to mention the major algae build up. You almost can’t retrieve a single cast without getting a pound of algae on your line or bait.
So I’ve been fishing this lake all hours of the day for about 2 months now and I’m starting to think that maybe I’m just a horrible angler. I’ve fished it during weekdays and weekends and anywhere from before dawn to long after dusk. I’ve tried everything I can think of to catch the lunkers that are out there and still can’t seem to land them. I know they’re out there because I saw a nice 4 pounder on my way in a few weeks ago. I fish out of a raft and have used spinners, tubes, cranks, worms, lizards, craws, power bait, banjo minnows, swim baits, jigs, buzzers, worms, and rooster tails. Heck I even just threw a lonely single hook out there once just so I could say I tried everything and caught a 14” perch, go figure. I’ve tried every presentation there is and no big bass. If anyone has any pointers please share.
