First to post a report for Grandy Lake, that can't be right....
My son and I camped out at Grandy Lake over the weekend. First come first server on the campsites. They were clean but not a whole lot of privacy. It has a gravel (I think) boat launch that seemed to work for the two bass boats that were out on Sunday.
Over half the lake is at about 2' deep and the entire lake was very weedy. The water was between 64-66 degrees over the course of the weekend and moderately stained. Legend has it there are some monster bass in this lake, from our experience that still remains a legend. Slow fishing for us. Between the two of us we got 4 on Friday evening, 15 all Saturday, and 3 Sunday morning. All white and white/chart spinner baits seemed to be the common ground for the majority of our catch. Targets included wooded shorelines and the sparse array of pads around areas that were about 4' deep. We also got a couple on a junebug swimtail senko and a 0-3' diving crank bait.
I usually forget to put this in my reports, but all fish were released to the comfort of their weedy lake. I will be back in a couple of weeks with the entire family. And I would really like to get back here in the spring and early summer.
