Skipped a day of work and tried this lake for the first time after scooping it out a couple years ago. Only a small light boat or canoe is appropriate for this lake as it is extremely shallow with tons of lily pads. Also there is no boat launch. The entrance to it off the side of the road is barricaded so it is a walk in only deal. Managed to push-pole my way in my 7 ft aluminum john boat to the only open water which was a very small area in the middle of the lake. Caught and released 2 largemouths on an old Shannon spinnerbait, one about 8 inches long and another that was about 10 inches and weighed about a pound.
Also Tried a live worm on the bottom in hopes of perch or mudcats but no avail.
