Well? Time and work has put somewhat of a damper on my fishing reports this summer. Never the less, my good friend Kavin Bolser came up from Moses lake area to fish with me on Yakima's I 82 pond's pond # 6 near Buena. We set out to find Yellow perch, so I headed immediately for the center Island to search for those tasty, but at times, elusive panfish. Kavin Immediately nailed a 12" Largemouth bass on a chartruse jighead and powerworm. We then slowly probed the weed pockets around the Island with mini jigs until a particular spot in front of a fallen tree on the Island began producing fat 8 to 9" keeper size perch. I alternated tipping my 1/32 oz. jig with a chunk of worm and perch meat. Around 7 p.m., the perch went on a tear.. We caught over 50 in the next hour and some 32 perch went into our fish bag. I caught a nice 10" black crappie on perch meat, so on a hunch I began casting a watermelon pearl Berkley Gulp minnow on a light jighead and picked up a half dozen slab crappie just before dark to the right of the tree. The Crappie responded the best to swimming the minnow just above the weed tops and then letting it drop into open pockets. All the crappie were caught along the outside weed edge. We ended up with 39 fish kept for a great evening of I-82 panfishing. The jigmiester
