We hit Omak Lake again and had to chase the fish out deeper. The surface temp is 72 and the fish are headed for colder water. We fished 2 downrigger rods between 50 and 80 feet down in 60-90 feet of water. We caught and released 21 fish in 3 hours, the largest two are pictured at 8 lbs. and 9 lbs. Depth adjustments on the downriggers, the classic "S" curves, and periodic speed adjustments really trigger these fish. Once you find fish, keep pounding the same area and you'll catch tons of fish. This lake is fun because there is always a chance at a double digit fish, and the "small" trout are 17 inches. Good luck!

I can't find much info on Omak Lake, I looked at it through Google maps and it looks to be on an Indian reservation...where did you launch?? any restriction?

Yes, it's on the reservation. The only launch for non-tribal members is at Mission Bay on the northern end. You can get a regulation pamphlet where you buy your licence. Right now you can keep 3 fish, only one of those over 18". We're fishing fairly deep, so we're not catching very many fish under 18".
