Aaron mentioned Geneva to me and after reading the reports I had to go. Caught this guy on a spinner around 6;45-7am. caught another one a little smaller on a senko with bullet weight. What i have noticed lately is I have been hooking into fish very early in the morning, but by 7:30-8am I can't find them anymore. I know the bass move deeper as the water gets warmer, but we worked the depths with drop shots, senkos, spinners, rapalas, etc and couldn't pull anymore.

either way I'm stoked, these are personal bests for me. and I had a goal of fishing 12 new lakes in 2009. I think this puts me at like 14.

Funny i used to do the same.Id find a lake and head out to discover it mark it on the gps and continue on.I like the last hour of the day on geneva seems to come alive .Kilarney has fish too ,hit the docks with yamamoto grubs in black and sparkle and you will do well.Glad too hear from geneva for a change .

Hey Dustin, nice to see you are exploring a lot of our beautiful bass here in the great northwest. When I was a little younger I had the urge to catch a bass from as many different lakes as possible. As an example, in 1979 I caught bass from 21 new lakes and in 1980 I caught bass from another 22 new lakes. Now after more that 275 bass lakes, it is mostly trying to beat my previous best fish. At age 80, I have added 2 improvements and 1 new lake this year. Keep up the good work and keep records. BJ

Thanks guys! And Bob, thank you for your story- I went on a snow goose hunting trip with my father in law this past Feb in Missouri, it was my first out of state guided hunting trip. half of the hunters I was there with showed me their hunting journals, it was very cool stuff and I immediately went out to get my own. I haven't been great about logging my trips, but I'm getting there!

knew there were quite a few lakes in the area, but I really thought I'd have to drive further and explore more to find them. It seems like there are a good 10-12 fishable lakes within a half dozen miles of Geneva! I'm in Enumclaw and off the top of my head I can think of another dozen or more lakes that are within 20 minutes drive or so!

I was going to try Kilarney this morning but my brother wouldn't get out of bed early and I didn't want to go solo... I'm going to get a trailer for my wrangler I think so I can haul my little 10' aluminum boat without having to throw it in the back of a truck.

I think the key to catching them at Geneva is to change clothes halfway through your trip - that way the fish don't recognize you on your second pass around the lake.

I don't know about that cold in the morning bit... as you'll see from the pic taken at 6:30am with shorts on..... :P but then again i wasn't dangling my legs in the water that day either.

By the looks of your picture it was nice and sunny out was it not ? It was 54 deg in the morning and very cloudy on thursday at 5am and was 76 deg and bluebird sunny skies at 4pm when I left. Thats cold to me lol , I get used to hot weather then it changes to the 50's and I freeze my ars off. Friday was warm and sunny all day. You guys did better than me on Friday. I got skunked out at ohop on friday after 7hrs fishing , but it was also my first time there under less than favorable conditions. I got skunked at dolloff the next day also , but I was only there for about 2 hours mid day. I guess I'll have to start reporting my bad days too, being unemployed atm has given me tons of time to fish the last few months.

P.S. Also I fished 11 hours that day! If I had not stuck it out all day I would have not had half the catch/luck.

I wish the Sammamish Derby could start about 1hr sooner! I think i'll try for bass the first 2 hours then just go troutin' since I haven't caught any bass after about 8am this year anyways.

Ok I'm an idiot. Your right Aaron . That second fish I posted was from Lk. Limerik on 6/25/09 . I posted a pic of the fish that was supposed to be there instead. Sry guys wrong pic *doh . That last pic really is my clothes I wore underneath and it was my last fish of the day. I should have paid closer attention and not have hurried like I did. My bad =/ .
