Got out to the lake about 1:15pm and started rigging my line for bass. I had seen some guys catching little smallmouth off the dock and wanted to see if I could get any action. It was overcast so I figured they might come in shallow looking for a bite. As I was rigging my line a guy on the dock pulled out a little 8" smalley. He was using real worms bouncing them along the bottom. Then on his very next cast nailed the biggest smalley I have ever seen. 17" and approx. 4 lbs. HUGE. I quickly rigged my line with a plastic motor oil worm and tossed it out there. Bounced it twice and the line started running, I landed a nice 15" 2 lbs Largemouth. Other guys were fishing worms in the deep and one guy brought in a 16" cutthroat trout. Other guys were hitting fish with real worms too. No luck for me on the trout end. Wish I had brought some real worms. Some were floating the worm with power bait others were using a worm blower.
