Well - I finally landed a "Mac" in Deer Lake after going out on several runs. I found out that people have the best luck with "macs" on this lake when they fish at Dusk. Was trolling a silver spoon on leaded line and about 45 feet down when this bad-boy hit. What a great fun it was reelin em in from that deep!

When we cleaned the fish later found a 8 inch planter trout in his belly that was WHOLE. These guys are deadly when it comes to planters. Now I know why they want then OUT of the lake. Baked the fish in the oven and was very good. The meat was orange and not too oily at all. Tasted like chicken! LOL!! Tight lines and sharp hooks!

Congratulations!!!! It looks like you were in the Narrows when the picture was taken. Is that where you caught him? They all get easier after the first one!

Actually, I caught it trolling about 50 yards from shore just south of the Narrows....The picture was taken in the narrows.
