we arived at the lake at 5:30 or so. sorta breezy and overcast. throughout the morning we trolled and casted into the shallows with streamers. I caught one really sickly 16in rainbow trolling a muddler minnow. I swiched to a large olive wooly bugger and caught 2 casting that towards shore. my friend could not hook them and missed numerous bites while we were casting. he caught a 13in while trolling. the weird prt of the trip was this mistery fish that my friend caught on his muddler minnow. I think its a green sunfish... I was using a really old fiberglass 4wieght rod so it was a lot of fun fisghting those rainbows. can't wait till next time.

it looks like some sort of hybrid.how did it taste?I first thought it was a freshwater rock bass, but then i could see the bluegill dot on the gill.

Looks like an Oscar fish to me! You can find those in most pet stores. Its a warm water fish so I doubt it would have survived a winter though.

It looks like an aquarium cichlid released when it outgrew the tank to me, but the photo is fuzzy could be a sunfish hybrid.
