I had back surgery twice in the last month and have been unable to get to the lake so I was thrilled to fish on Saturday. We got on the lake late at about 10am but started catching, not just fishing right away. My buddy has had a lot of luck slow trolling the south end of the lake. Basically we draw an imaginary line between the last cabins on both shores at the end of the lake and troll that line. We got everything from Bows to Bass. I personally would have liked to park and cast for the spinys but it was windy and trolling was ok with me.
We didn't catch anything worth talking about but we did catch; a plethora of 10-14" bows (didn't see a brown which is what we were catching 3 weeks earlier), some nice sized perch (8-10"), bluegill, and even some smallies. We got off the water when we seemed to be too inebriated to handle fine filament, we are lucky to own cabins on the lake so we don't have to drive anywhere.
Earlier that day I had walked out of my cabin (in my underwear), walked down a cabin or two and caught my largest LM ever. My buddy Corey had given me a lure (sorry guys, I can desribe but don't know the name), told me how to use it and where to use it. Fouth cast and bam, woohoo! I felt sorry for the homeowner who came out to my shouting of "Holy Sh*t!, over and over, but even she was thirlled to see such a monster come out of our bay. I did get a pic on my phone then beered the phone so no pic to share, it was between 16 and 18". It is still swimmin'
