Went out to Shadow with my ol' fishin' buddy. We arrived around 8:30AM, weather was fair, turning cloudy...two others launching boats as we arrived; on eboat coming in reporting no luck. We went out, turned off to the right just after the channel, and starting seeing bass and trout both finning on the top. It was interesting...the trout more towards the middle of the lake, the Bass of course on the outer edges just outside the lillies...immediately starting getting strikes, but didn't land one until we hit the south side of the lake. First fish landed was a 16in trout...I felt really bad, this fish SLAMMED my buddy's rod, the spit out with grub and hit my booyah HARD. I knew it was a trout as it jumped out of the water when it hit my buddy's, spit out the grub, splashed and SWALLOWED the huge hook on mine...it was hungry! Pulled it in, hook was way to big for him, through the mouth, out the eye so we kept him. I wasn't happy he grabbed mine, but a fish none the less. I put him on the stringer, casted out, and BAM a 1.5 lb bass right away. Only fish caught, out of the other boats, didn't see/hear of any success as we passed. It was just a good time...
