This report is a little late in coming, but you may recognize the pics from Flippinfool's "FREE BEER" thread. :) I thad a guide trip with flip and his wife Katherine out on lake washington on June 6th to go after smallies. Frankly I thought the fishing was really tough. We ran into Sparky and Dez out there who confirmed the fishing was tough for them as well. The water temp was about 69 degrees, and we had a very overcast day with rain off and on, and I thought we were just gonna whack 'em! Unfortunately, that gameplan didn't materialize. We fished mostly post spawn patterns, targeting breaklines, weed edges and points, but ultimately we ended up slowing way down to catch our fish. First fish came in 20 feet of water on a shaky head with a Reaction Innovations flirt, the rest of the fish came off docks in 15-20 feet of water with a variety of baits, including roboworms, panic minnows, and sniper snubs. No real giants, one nice 3+ pounder and few solid 2.5 or so. We had some tough weather out there and some tough fishing, and I give Flip and his wife big kudo's for the great attitude they carried with them all day long! Despite the fishing conditions, we had a great time, and managed to bag a limit in the process! Tight Lines! 0 Dave
