Went to Coulon Park today about 11:00AM, and fished off the fishing pier. Caught one small mouth using a dropshot roboworm. Tried crankbait, a Yum crawdad, and a senko with no luck. The guys fishing next to us caught 8 small perch and 2 small bullheads. Stayed about 2 hours, and decided to try the north end of the lake at Logboom. Got lots of bites at Logboom, but was using big hooks, so didn't catch any. Same story again. Four different guys caught a lot of fish using nightcrawlers, about 7 each, bluegill, perch, bullheads, and an unidentified fish - someone thought was a white fish. Also saw a HUGE fish jump right at the beginning of the dock, and someone said it was a carp. I thought it looked like a bigmouth bass, but hard to tell. Anyway, there was constant action, especially at the very beginning of the pier walk, and a fun bunch of people. Great day.

You don't have to go all the way out to the end of that dock, a lot of people don't. If you decide to go all the way out, watch out for submerged pilings. They eat gear! There is good fishing at the beginning, next to shore. I've seen multi pound Bass and Tench caught there. Also red-eared or pumkinseed sunfish. You can find perch the whole length of the dock. I've caught large (18") rainbow trout there in the winter (about halfway out to the end), and yes, there are carp around there too. It's a fun dock. The perch tend to be on the small side, you can access the outer dock at the marina for bigger perch.
