Fished Long with the old man Friday evening. A bit hesitant about launching the aluminum boat with some signs of lightning in the area. The storm was mild and passed so we hit the water around 1830. We got a bit wet from the rain, but who really cares when you are fishing. We fished between the two launches on the lower end as we wanted to stay close to the boat trailor just in case. Only 4 smallies between the two of us. All fish were caught on Lake Fork and Netbait plastics in 15-20 feet of water. We did manage to shorten the life span of 9 squawfish in the process. Off the water at 2100. A lady made sure to ask us not to catch the beaver that resides below her house, and no beavers were caught. We stopped by the Nine Mile store for gas where we spoke with a 7 year old boy by the name of Tyler. He was so excited that he caught his first fish. He told us it was only a squawfish, but he didn't care. Then his mom started calling for him and he told us she could wait because we were talking about fishing. Nothing better that seeing a youth so pumped about fishing. Fish on Tyler, FISH ON!
