My wife Sadie and I got on the lake at about 5:30 a.m. and ran straight across where we were hoping to get right in on the tall lillies but got held back by the extending weeds. Not being able to get in close, we started pitchin spinnerbaits out in the middle on the south end. After about 20 casts thrue the anoying but normal weed growth the wife was getting a bit frustrated. She's a natural born troller and she did her best. I wanted to try and find something that they were biting that would also be fun for her, so I tied on a floating Sexy Shad crankbait for her and an Original 3" perch Repala for me. I told her to cast and once the ripples totally dispursed from around the bait use a twitch, twitch motion back to the boat. Although she took to this method like a champ the luck was on my line because on my second cast a 3.5 pounder blasted my Repala 12 yards from the boat and the fight was on. After a short tussle and a great netting job by Sadie we landed her. We snapped a quick picture then released her back into the water where she can battle somebody else, I dont think she went the legal 17" anyway. The next cast I hit a 1 pounder and then nothing for about an hour. We got tired of the wind and the weeds and forgetting my anchor we got off the water about 8:15 a.m. It was fun hangin out on the boat with the wifey. Next time she'll have the lucky line trolling for trout or the highly anticipated summer steelies. Good luck out there Washington anglers!

I like to take my wife out as well, but I won't take new anglers or my wife to this lake, the weeds drive them nuts. ROFLOL

I think your right, well just stick to the docks and rocks until she gets more experienced. Going to Loon tonight for the silvers with my buddy craig and his boy who's 5. Hope there biting. Good luck on your next fishing adventure!
