A buddy and I caught probably around 40 to 50 Large mouth. The morning started out pretty fast. I had a fish on the second cast sight fishing the flats. It was pretty fun to see the fish then cast in front of it and watch them slam the bait. We had luck on pretty much any thing we tossed out there. Caught fish in open water, docks, and the pads. Its always fun to catch a lot of fish but im more of a hog hunter I would be happier with one big fish then 10 little ones any day. Unfortently the biggest fish of the day was a 17 inch 3 lbs large mouth. Im sure most folks would be jumping for joy catching that fish and dont get me wrong that use to be awsome for me. But I have caught my fair share of 3 lbrs and larger as well as some small mouths that have pushed 5 lbs (thats something to be happy about). However now I have the need to get the one of a lifetime on the end of the rod and see what im made of. Any ways over all it was a fun day didnt have any need to pull out the camara today maybe next time.

Sounds like a fun day but I understand you completely. I caught and released a 6.14 lb small mouth last year and a 8.3 Lb Large Mouth in 2002. My buddy recently broke my LM record by 3 oz with a 8.6 lb LM. That broke my heart but it is game on. I typically dont catch as many fish as my buddies but I do get the big ones because I target them. Now I seek a double digit bass of 10+lb. I am 40 years old so I have many years left to die trying.

Thats what im talking about TW. Where did you catch those pigs at. I have seen a few fish in this state that i think would maybe make that 10 lb dream come true but they are hard to come by. Diamond lake has some big bass in it but i have never caught any monstors out there just seen them cruising the shallows. I guess if i fished more then twice in my life i might have better results to post but thats what its all about getting out there and getting it done. Good luck on that goal i hope to be in the club with ya some day.
