Fished Lake McMurray this morning. I arrived at 6am and there were 6 others already on the water or launching. Fish were very active on the surface mainly turning and breaking the water. Later in the morning they began jumping again but not as frequently as last weekend. I had limited strikes this time out and boated only 2 fish in 3 hours. I also lost two at the boat one of which looked to be maybe 14 inches. I also landed a 5 inch perch which I released. Now I am thinking the schools I am seeing on my finder may be perch. These perch may also be responsible for the multiple lighter bites I experienced last weekend that often times resulted in unsuccessful hookups and loss of worm from the wedding ring. Any, it was a beautiful morning on the water. It was very calm and there was no wind which was nice. Water temp was 66.6 degrees F. Great trip but poor bite thus netting the rating of a 1 - 2.

Dave,
We fished last night and did well again still fishing power bait. We kept 16 last night this time I took my aunt and uncle I think we lost at least 6 but always had some action, did try north end past the stumps to get out of the wind. However we were blanked down there.. The guys trolling last night were catching some.. Trophymac

Good to hear. I'm glad someone did well there. It was very slow there for me and my friend trolling. I also noticed one of my fish did have worms or some sort of parasite attached. Did you have any that had this? Just curious. It was mentioned in a report for this lake a few weeks back. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the info.

Hey Dave,
When I fished it years ago, we had the same problem with the parisites. My buddy and I had never come across this before and were a little startled. A WDFW Officer said it's typical at McMurray as the water warms up.
