It was a great morning on Tapps today. Fishing senkos in the stump fields I probebly caught 25 smallmouth in about 2 hours.Nothing bigger then 2-3 pounds. Then after I got my fill of catching fish I switched to a big jerk bait and fish for tigers. I continued to catch smallies on the jerk bait then this muskie drilled it at the boat. it measured right at 30 inckes. Kind of small but it's good to get the 09 mukie monkey off my back.Off the water by 8:00 am before all the nutjob skiboats came out. Now I'm going for size. Sorry about the picture, I was solo.

It was nice out there this morning wasn't it. We're going to try again in the morning. We stayed till around 11;00 and it wasn't too bad except at the launch. Congrats on the muskie.

I'm new to this bass thing. What's a senko? and the stump field is that the area to the south and around to the east of Snag?" Just trying to learn.

I have no fished Tapps for smallies before and I was really looking into it. What are some of the better spots on the lake and do they have fishing maps at any stores around the lake?

Just check out the map in the lake index for Tapps, someone went through the troble of marking a lake map with good spots for smb, and muskie.
Jaydog, a senko is a thick plastic worm with no tail, they work great for flipping into tight structure, and are usually used weightless, for a gradual fall.
